Exciting Things Are Ahead for ATD Pittsburgh
One of the things I appreciate most about serving as President of ATD Pittsburgh is seeing our volunteers turn ideas into meaningful opportunities for our members. Our Programming Committee has been incredibly busy over the past several months, and I'm excited to share a preview of what's coming this fall.
New Series: From Strategy to Skill
We're launching a brand-new event series, From Strategy to Skill, designed to connect talent development professionals with the organizations that are shaping the future of learning and leadership in our region.
Hosted at local companies with strong talent development practices, these sessions will bring together business leaders and talent development professionals to explore timely topics, share practical strategies, and learn from one another. Whether you're looking for fresh ideas, real-world applications, or opportunities to expand your network, this series will offer valuable insights you can take back to your organization.
Introducing Our First Community of Practice
We're also excited to launch ATD Pittsburgh's first Community of Practice (CoP) focused on Career Transitions.
This idea came directly from feedback from our members. Many of you shared that navigating career transitions—whether changing industries, pursuing promotions, entering talent development, or supporting others through career change—can feel challenging without a community of peers.
To kick off this new Community of Practice, we'll host a panel discussion in September (date to be announced) featuring professionals with diverse career journeys and practical advice for navigating today's evolving workplace. We hope this becomes more than just an event—it will be the beginning of an ongoing community where members can connect, learn, and support one another.
More Opportunities to Connect
Collaboration continues to be a priority for our chapter. We're also planning another joint event with PHRA and CUPA this fall, bringing together professionals from talent development, human resources, and higher education to explore shared challenges and opportunities. Stay tuned for additional details in the coming weeks.
Growing with Our Members
As our profession continues to evolve, so does ATD Pittsburgh. We're committed to creating programming that reflects the needs of our members and provides opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together.
I encourage you to explore our upcoming events, engage with your fellow members, and become part of our growing community. Whether you're an experienced talent development professional, an emerging leader, or someone navigating your next career step, there's a place for you at ATD Pittsburgh.
I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!
