    Training & Engagement Specialist

    Job Summary

    The West Virginia University Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, has an

    exciting opportunity for an Engagement & Training Specialist. In this role, you will

    work closely with subject matter experts across the Foundation to design, iterate,

    maintain, and evaluate targeted learning solutions for over 900 learners who

    interact with the WVU Foundation’s systems, processes, staff, and data. You will be

    part of the Engagement & Training team, which creates and maintains all aspects of

    the Foundation’s learning ecosystem, including embedded documentation, self-

    paced eLearning, virtual instructor-led training, informational resources, and one-on-

    one support.

     

    The Engagement & Training Specialist reports to the Director of Engagement &

    Training. In this position, you will deliver virtual and/or in-person instructor-led

    training sessions; develop, iterate, and maintain eLearning solutions, job aids,

    documentation, and other resources; and manage and report on LMS data. You will

    also work closely with the Director of Engagement & Training to assess learning

    needs, evaluate solutions, and refine learning strategies.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following.

    Under the supervision of the Director of Engagement & Training,
    · Create, update, and maintain xAPI and SCORM-compliant self-paced
    eLearning courses
    · Create, update, and maintain embedded documentation, downloadable
    checklists, job aids, and other learning resources
    · Facilitate virtual and/or in-person instructor-led training sessions
    · Provide one-on-one virtual support for learners
    · Manage courses, resources, and user accounts in the Foundation’s learning
    management system (LMS)
    · Create reports from LMS data for Foundation leadership as needed
    · Facilitate focus groups for learning needs assessment and learning solutions
    evaluation
    · Work with the Technical Support Services and Information Security teams to
    ensure new and existing learners have access to appropriate supports
    · Work with subject matter experts to define learning objectives, refine and
    clarify learning content, and evaluate learning outcomes
    · Work closely with the Technology & Advancement Solutions, Talent
    Management & Culture, Finance, Development, and Investment teams to
    support the WVU Foundation’s customer base

    · Participate in user testing of new or updated applications, systems, and processes
    · Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience and Competencies:

    Candidates should have:
    · A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, adult learning, education,
    technical writing, or other related field
    · 2–4 years experience developing and/or delivering in-person training, virtual
    training, and other learning experiences for adult learners
    · LMS admin, eLearning development, and graphic design experience preferred
    Required skills and abilities

    ·Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to
    communicate business and technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
    · Ability to edit and accurately proofread written documentation and training
    materials
    · Attention to detail
    · Ability to meet deadlines and target dates
    · Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
    · Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and
    OneDrive
    · Proficient with industry standard eLearning development tools (Articulate 360
    preferred)
    · Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
    · Experience with LMS administration preferred

    Physical requirements

    Work Environment: The position is expected to be remote primarily. Employees must be in alignment with the WVUF work/telecommuting policy.  Travel is required at times for this position.
